Possible Causes
Defective magnetic reed switch or mechanical door switch, Misaligned door magnet, Broken or loose switch wiring, Faulty door input circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing door trims or switch covers.
- Locate door switch: On Gorenje wine coolers, the door sensor is often a magnetic reed switch in the cabinet frame or a small plunger switch near the top or side of the opening.
- Check magnet alignment: Ensure the magnet embedded in the door frame or gasket area lines up with the switch when the door is closed. Adjust door hinges if the door is sagging.
- Test the switch: Remove the switch cover and disconnect the wires. Use a multimeter in continuity mode while opening and closing the door (or moving a magnet near the reed switch). Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Inspect wiring: Check for broken or pinched wires between the switch and PCB. Repair or replace as needed.
- Replace faulty components: Install a new Gorenje-compatible door switch or magnet if defective. Ensure it is firmly seated and protected from moisture.
- Test: Restore power and confirm that E9 clears and the door alarm behaves correctly.
