Possible Causes
Blocked condenser or poor ventilation, Failed condenser fan motor, Refrigerant leak or partial blockage, Faulty compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or accessing the rear components.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket seals all around. Look for obstructions or warped shelves.
- Verify ventilation: Confirm that the wine cooler has adequate space around it and that warm air can escape from the rear or front grille.
- Clean condenser coil: Remove the rear lower panel and vacuum dust from the condenser. Use a soft brush to avoid damaging fins.
- Inspect condenser fan: If fitted, ensure the fan runs whenever the compressor is on. Replace the fan motor if it does not start or is noisy.
- Monitor compressor operation: After restoring power, check if the compressor runs continuously and whether the cabinet temperature drops over 2–3 hours. If the compressor runs but cooling is minimal, a sealed-system issue (refrigerant leak or blockage) is likely and requires a professional technician.
- Reset alarm: Many Gorenje models allow you to mute or reset the high temperature alarm via the control panel once the temperature has stabilized.
