Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hole, Disconnected drain tube at rear, Excessive door opening causing condensation, Cabinet not level causing water to pool
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside or behind it.
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, usually at the rear near the bottom or under the evaporator cover, find the small drain hole.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner or a small plastic rod to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Flush with a small amount of warm water using a syringe or turkey baster.
- Check rear drain tube: At the back, ensure the drain tube is connected and routed to the evaporator tray above the compressor.
- Level the unit: Adjust leveling feet so that water flows naturally toward the drain.
- Reduce door openings: Frequent or prolonged door openings can increase condensation; minimize as practical.
