Possible Causes
Faulty compressor start relay or PTC, Open thermal overload on compressor, Failed main control board relay, Loose mains wiring to compressor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler and wait for components to cool before touching the compressor area.
- Listen for compressor: After plugging in, listen at the back. If you hear only a click or nothing at all, the compressor may not be starting.
- Check wiring: Remove the rear panel and verify that all wires to the compressor and start device are firmly connected and not burnt.
- Inspect start relay/PTC: Remove the start device from the compressor. If it rattles when shaken or shows burn marks, replace it with a Gorenje-compatible part.
- Test continuity: With power off, check compressor windings for continuity between terminals. If open or shorted to ground, the compressor is defective and requires professional replacement.
- Control board check: If the compressor and start device test good but never receive power, the main PCB relay may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
