Hotpoint
Door Seal or Ambient Humidity Issue
Condensation or fogging on the glass door
Advertisements
Possible Causes
High room humidity, Door gasket leaking warm air, Frequent door openings, Failed door heater (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work is usually required, but unplug if removing trims.
- Check ambient conditions: High humidity rooms will cause more condensation. Use a dehumidifier or improve ventilation.
- Inspect door gasket: Look for gaps between the gasket and cabinet. Close the door on a sheet of paper; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak in that area.
- Clean gasket and glass: Wipe with warm soapy water to remove dirt that may prevent sealing.
- Replace gasket if necessary: Install a genuine Hotpoint door gasket if the original is warped or cracked.
- Limit door openings: Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings to minimize moisture entry.
