How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before tipping or moving it.

Check leveling: Ensure the wine cooler is level front-to-back and side-to-side using the adjustable feet. Excessive tilt can trigger protection.
Inspect for vibration sources: Verify that the compressor and fans are securely mounted and that no tubing is rattling against the cabinet.
Locate vibration sensor: On some Hotpoint models, a small sensor is mounted on the chassis or control board area.
Check sensor mounting and wiring: Tighten any loose screws and ensure the harness is not damaged.
Replace faulty sensor: If identified as defective, install a genuine Hotpoint vibration/tilt sensor.
If E18 continues: The control board may misinterpret signals and could require professional diagnosis.
