Possible Causes
Door gasket not sealing, Door frequently opened, High ambient humidity, Thermostat set too low causing cold surfaces
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No major electrical work is typically required, but unplug the unit if removing door gasket or panels.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect door gasket: Look for gaps, tears, or hardened sections of the gasket. Close the door on a strip of paper at several points; if it pulls out easily, the seal is weak.
- 2. Adjust door alignment: Tighten or adjust hinges so the door closes squarely against the cabinet.
- 3. Replace gasket if needed: Remove the old gasket by pulling it out of the retaining channel. Warm the new gasket in hot water to make it flexible, then press it evenly into the channel around the door.
- 4. Reduce door openings: Limit how often and how long the door is opened, especially in humid environments.
- 5. Adjust temperature: Raise the set temperature slightly to reduce surface condensation while still maintaining proper wine storage conditions.
