Possible Causes
Misaligned door magnet or reed switch, Failed door switch, Broken door switch wiring, Loose connector at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working around the door frame or control wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closing and that shelves or bottles are not preventing a tight seal. Inspect the gasket for deformation.
- 2. Locate door sensor: On many Kalamera models, a magnetic reed switch is mounted in the cabinet frame, and a magnet is embedded in the door. Others use a mechanical plunger switch.
- 3. Test the switch: If accessible, remove the inner trim to expose the switch. With the unit unplugged, disconnect the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while opening and closing the door (or moving a magnet near the reed switch). The reading should change between open and closed.
- 4. Adjust alignment: If using a magnetic sensor, ensure the door magnet lines up directly with the switch when closed. Adjust the door hinges or magnet position if necessary.
- 5. Replace faulty switch: If the switch does not change state, replace it with a compatible Kalamera door switch or reed sensor. Reconnect wiring securely.
- 6. Test alarm: Restore power and verify that the dE code and alarm clear when the door is closed and reappear when opened.
