Possible Causes
Failed upper-zone thermistor, Failed lower-zone thermistor, Wiring harness damage between zone sensor and control board, Control board zone sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooler before accessing interior panels or wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Identify affected zone: Check which zone (upper or lower) is not cooling correctly. Some models indicate the zone in error; otherwise, compare actual temperatures with setpoints.
- 2. Access interior panels: Remove shelves from the affected zone and take off the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator and sensor wiring.
- 3. Locate zone thermistor: Each zone typically has its own thermistor mounted on the rear wall or near the evaporator. Trace the wires back to the control board.
- 4. Inspect and test: Check for loose mounting, damaged insulation, or broken wires. Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to expected NTC values at the current temperature.
- 5. Replace faulty sensor: If the reading is open, shorted, or clearly out of range, install a new zone temperature sensor compatible with your Kalamera dual-zone model. Route the wires as originally installed.
- 6. Check harness and board: If both sensors test good, inspect the harness for continuity and the control board for signs of damage. A failed zone input on the board may require board replacement.
- 7. Reassemble and test: Reinstall panels and shelves, restore power, and verify that E7 clears and both zones reach and hold their set temperatures.
