Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice buildup blocking fan blade, Broken fan blade, Loose or damaged fan wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing interior panels or touching the fan.
Steps:
- 1. Confirm fan noise: When the unit is running, you should normally hear a gentle airflow inside. If silent or rattling, suspect the evaporator fan.
- 2. Access evaporator fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator coil and fan assembly.
- 3. Check for ice or obstruction: Look for ice buildup around the fan or objects that may have fallen into the fan path. Defrost any ice by unplugging the unit and allowing it to melt; do not chip with sharp tools.
- 4. Test fan movement: Spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the motor is likely bad.
- 5. Electrical test: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the fan motor and measure resistance across the motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- 6. Replace fan motor: Install a new evaporator fan motor and blade assembly compatible with your Kalamera model. Ensure the blade is oriented correctly for proper airflow and that wires are secured away from moving parts.
- 7. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the interior panel and shelves, restore power, and verify that the fan runs and the FAN error clears.
