Possible Causes

Stuck relay on control board keeping compressor on, Faulty temperature sensor reading too warm, Control board calibration error, Thermostat set too low or misconfigured

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the control board or sensors.

Steps:

  • 1. Verify set temperature: Confirm that the setpoint is appropriate for wine storage (typically 40–65°F depending on wine type). Adjust upward if set too low.
  • 2. Check sensor accuracy: Place an accurate thermometer inside the cabinet and compare to the display reading. If the display shows warmer than actual, the sensor may be faulty and causing overcooling.
  • 3. Inspect temperature sensor: Access the cabinet thermistor (usually on the rear interior wall). Check for secure mounting and intact wiring. Test resistance with a multimeter and compare to expected values.
  • 4. Replace faulty sensor: If the thermistor is out of spec, replace it with a compatible Kalamera sensor. This often resolves overcooling and L1 alarms.
  • 5. Evaluate control board: If the sensor is accurate but the compressor runs excessively, the compressor relay on the main board may be stuck closed. In this case, replace the main control board.
  • 6. Monitor operation: After repairs, allow the unit to stabilize for several hours and confirm that the temperature cycles around the setpoint without dropping excessively low.
