Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hole, Disconnected or kinked drain tube, Excess humidity and frequent door openings, Cracked drain pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels or working near electrical components. Mop up any standing water to prevent slipping.
Steps:
- 1. Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, look for a small drain hole or channel at the rear or bottom where condensate should flow out.
- 2. Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner, cotton swab, or flexible plastic rod to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Do not use sharp metal objects.
- 3. Check drain tube and pan: From the rear of the unit, remove the lower panel and locate the drain tube leading to a small drain pan near the compressor. Ensure the tube is connected, not kinked, and the pan is not cracked or overflowing.
- 4. Clean drain system: Flush the drain with a small amount of warm water mixed with mild detergent or vinegar to remove buildup. Dry the area thoroughly.
- 5. Reduce humidity load: Minimize door openings and ensure the door gasket seals properly to reduce excess condensation.
- 6. Replace damaged parts: If the drain pan is cracked or the tube is damaged, replace them with compatible Kalamera parts.
