Possible Causes

Faulty ambient NTC sensor near condenser or control panel, Sensor wiring harness damage, Loose or oxidized connector at main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the rear or control compartment.

Steps:

  • 1. Identify ambient sensor location: On many Liebherr wine coolers, the ambient sensor is located near the condenser at the rear or behind the control panel at the top.
  • 2. Inspect wiring: Remove the rear lower cover or control panel cover. Look for a small probe sensor connected by two thin wires. Check for crushed, cut, or heat-damaged insulation.
  • 3. Check connections: Reseat the sensor connector on the control board. Look for corrosion or loose pins.
  • 4. Test the sensor: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with expected NTC values or with another identical sensor if present.
  • 5. Replace if defective: Install a new Liebherr ambient NTC sensor, routing the cable away from hot condenser tubing and sharp metal edges.
  • 6. Power up and verify: Restore power, clear the alarm, and verify that the compressor cycles normally and the F2 code does not return.

Call a technician if the sensor tests correctly but the control still shows F2, as the main PCB may be faulty.
