Possible Causes
Faulty magnetic door switch or reed sensor, Misaligned door magnet, Broken door switch wiring, Control board not detecting door closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Disconnect power before removing trim or switch components.
dE indicates the cooler believes the door is open even when it is closed.
- Check door closure: Ensure shelves or bottles are not preventing full closure. Look for interference with the gasket.
- Inspect the door magnet: Many Luma models use a small magnet embedded in the door frame that triggers a reed switch in the cabinet. Verify the magnet is present and aligned with the switch location.
- Test the switch: Locate the door switch (often near the top frame). With a multimeter, check continuity while placing a magnet near the switch. Replace the Luma door switch / reed sensor if it does not change state.
- Check wiring: Ensure the switch wires are intact and firmly connected to the control board.
After repair, restore power and confirm that the interior light turns off and the dE code clears when the door is closed.
