Possible Causes

Failed ambient thermistor, Sensor dislodged from mounting location, Harness damage between sensor and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Unplug the cooler before accessing any control or sensor wiring.

Some Luma wine coolers use a separate ambient sensor to adjust performance based on room temperature. E2 indicates this sensor is not reading correctly.

  • Locate the ambient sensor: It is often mounted near the front grille, side wall, or behind the control panel, with a small plastic probe exposed to room air.
  • Visual inspection: Confirm the sensor is not dangling loose, crushed, or covered by insulation. Check for frayed or pinched wires, especially where they pass through cabinet holes.
  • Connector check: Follow the sensor wires to the main control board and ensure the plug is fully seated and free of corrosion.
  • Replace if faulty: If the sensor is physically damaged or tests open/shorted with a multimeter, replace it with a Luma ambient temperature sensor of the same specification.
  • Re-test: After replacement, restore power and allow the unit to run for at least 15 minutes. Verify that E2 clears and that the displayed temperature responds reasonably to room conditions.

If the error persists with a known-good sensor, the control board may need replacement.
