Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Always disconnect power before working inside the cabinet.
E6 typically points to a problem with the evaporator (internal) circulation fan.
- Access the fan: Remove the interior rear panel to expose the evaporator coil and fan assembly.
- Check for ice or obstructions: Look for ice buildup or foreign objects blocking the fan blades. If iced over, fully defrost the unit and correct any door gasket or defrost issues.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan blades by hand. If they are stiff or seized, the motor is likely bad and should be replaced with a Luma evaporator fan motor assembly.
- Verify wiring: Ensure the fan’s wiring harness is firmly connected to the control board and not damaged.
- Test operation: After reassembly, plug in the cooler and listen for the fan to start when cooling begins. Uneven temperatures or no airflow indicate further fan or board issues.
If the fan motor tests good but does not receive voltage during operation, the control board may be defective.
