Display shows E8 and the compressor or Peltier module does not run; unit may beep or shut down.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: The power module contains high-voltage components. Unplug the unit and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before touching the board.
E8 usually indicates a serious fault in the power drive circuit.
- Access the power board: Remove the rear panel to locate the main power/control board mounted near the compressor or cooling module.
- Visual inspection: Look for burnt areas, cracked solder joints, or swollen capacitors on the board.
- Check harnesses: Inspect all outgoing harnesses from the board to the compressor, fans, and sensors for shorts, pinched wires, or melted insulation.
- Isolate the fault (advanced): If comfortable and with the unit unplugged, disconnect the compressor or thermoelectric module harness and then power up briefly. If E8 clears without the load connected, the load (compressor/module) may be shorted.
- Replace board if needed: If the board is visibly damaged or E8 persists regardless of connected loads, replace with a compatible Luma power/control board.
Due to shock risk and diagnostic complexity, many users should have a qualified technician handle E8 faults.
