Possible Causes

Control board not sending start signal, Failed relay on main board, Open temperature sensor circuit preventing cooling call

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the cooler before accessing the control board or sensors.

Steps to restore cooling:

  • Verify setpoint: Ensure the set temperature is below ambient so the unit should be calling for cooling.
  • Check for error codes: Look for any sensor-related codes (E1–E3, E7–E8). Resolve those first, as the control may inhibit cooling if sensors are faulty.
  • Inspect main control board: Remove the rear or bottom panel and visually inspect the board for burnt components or loose connectors.
  • Check compressor and fan connectors: Ensure the harnesses from the board to the compressor relay and fans are fully seated.
  • Replace main control board: If there are no sensor errors and wiring is intact but the board does not energize the compressor or fans, replace the NewAir main control board (PCB).

Note: If you are not comfortable working with electronics, have a professional perform these checks.
