Possible Causes
Failed zone-specific evaporator fan, Faulty zone temperature sensor, Diverter damper stuck closed (if equipped), Zone control circuit failure on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing interior panels or the rear compartment.
Steps to troubleshoot a warm zone:
- Compare zones: Note which zone (upper or lower) is not cooling. Check for any error codes related to that zone (e.g., E7/E8).
- Check fan operation: With the door closed (or door switch held closed), listen for airflow in the affected zone. If no airflow, the zone’s evaporator fan may be failed.
- Access interior panel: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel of the affected zone to expose the evaporator and fan.
- Inspect fan and wiring: Check for ice blocking the fan, damaged blades, or loose wiring. Replace the NewAir zone evaporator fan motor if it does not run.
- Check zone sensor: Locate and test the zone’s thermistor. Replace with the appropriate NewAir zone temperature sensor if out of spec.
- Evaluate control board: If fan and sensor are good but the zone still does not cool, the zone control circuit on the main board may be defective and require replacement.
Tip: Until repaired, store all temperature-sensitive bottles in the functioning zone or another cooler.
