Steps to resolve dE / door error:

• Check door closure: Ensure no bottles or shelves are preventing the door from closing fully. Inspect the gasket for warping or debris.
• Test door switch function: On many NewAir models, the door switch is magnetic. Slowly open and close the door while watching the interior light and listening for the door alarm. If the light stays on or alarm continues with the door closed, the switch may be faulty.
• Locate the switch: The reed switch is often mounted behind the front frame or near the top of the cabinet, aligned with a magnet in the door.
• Inspect and adjust alignment: Verify that the door magnet lines up with the switch location. If the door is sagging, adjust the hinges or tighten hinge screws to improve alignment.
• Check wiring: Access the area behind the front frame or control panel to inspect the switch wiring for breaks or loose connections.
• Replace faulty switch: If the switch does not change state when a magnet is placed near it (test with a small magnet), replace it with a NewAir door reed switch assembly.
• Reassemble and test: Restore power and confirm that the dE code clears and the door alarm behaves normally.

Tip: Avoid slamming the door, as repeated impact can misalign or damage the door switch and hinges.
