Possible Causes

Failed touch control panel, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Loose ribbon cable between display and main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing the control panel or display assembly.

Steps to address F1:

  • Inspect the control panel: Check for visible cracks, condensation, or liquid spills around the touch buttons or display window.
  • Dry the panel: If moisture is present, leave the unit unplugged with the door slightly open for 24 hours to allow drying. Do not use direct heat on the panel.
  • Access the display board: Remove the screws securing the front/top control panel and gently pull it away to expose the display PCB and ribbon cable.
  • Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon cable is fully seated in its connectors on both the display board and main control board. Reseat it carefully if loose.
  • Visual inspection: Look for burnt components or corrosion on the display PCB.
  • Replace display board if necessary: If F1 persists and the panel is unresponsive, replace the NewAir display / keypad control board with the correct part for your model.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall the control panel, restore power, and verify that the F1 code is cleared and buttons respond normally.

Tip: Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the control panel. Instead, spray a cloth and wipe to prevent moisture from entering the electronics.
