Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hole, Disconnected or kinked drain tube, Excessive door openings causing condensation, Cracked drain pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing interior panels. Wipe up any standing water to prevent slipping.
Steps to fix water leaks:
- Locate drain hole: Inside the cabinet, look at the rear lower area for a small drain hole or channel where condensate should flow.
- Clear blockage: Use a soft pipe cleaner, cotton swab, or flexible plastic strip to gently clear any debris or mold from the drain hole. Do not use metal objects that can damage the liner.
- Flush the drain: With a turkey baster or syringe, gently flush warm water through the drain to ensure it flows freely to the rear drain pan.
- Inspect rear drain tube and pan: Remove the rear lower panel and locate the drain tube and pan above the compressor. Ensure the tube is connected at both ends and not kinked. Check the pan for cracks.
- Repair or replace parts: Reattach or straighten the drain tube as needed. Replace a damaged NewAir drain pan or drain tube if leaking.
Tip: Keep the door closed as much as possible to reduce condensation and water production.
