Possible Causes
Unit not level, Loose internal components or panels, Vibrating condenser or evaporator fan, Compressor mounting grommets worn
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before tightening screws or accessing fans. Use caution when moving the cooler.
Steps to reduce noise:
- Level the unit: Use a bubble level on the top of the cooler. Adjust the front leveling feet until the unit is stable and does not rock.
- Check for cabinet contact: Ensure the cooler is not touching walls, cabinets, or other appliances that can transmit vibration.
- Secure shelves and bottles: Make sure shelves are fully seated and bottles are not touching the cabinet walls or each other excessively.
- Inspect rear components: Remove the rear lower panel and check that the condenser fan, compressor, and tubing are not contacting the panel or each other. Bend tubing slightly away from contact points if needed.
- Tighten loose screws: Tighten any loose mounting screws on the compressor bracket, fan shroud, and panels.
- Replace worn grommets: If the compressor mounting grommets are cracked or flattened, replace them with NewAir compressor mounting grommets to reduce vibration.
Tip: Place vibration-absorbing pads under the feet if the floor surface amplifies noise.
