Possible Causes

Open or shorted upper compartment NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Loose NTC connector at main control board, Moisture ingress into sensor probe

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

  • Locate the upper NTC sensor: In Pevino dual-zone models, the upper zone sensor is usually clipped to the evaporator cover or side wall behind a small plastic cover or grille.
  • Visual inspection: Remove the interior shelves and decorative panels as needed. Check the sensor lead for cuts, pinches, or signs of moisture damage.
  • Check connections: Trace the sensor wire back to the main control board (rear or bottom of the unit). Ensure the plug is fully seated and not corroded.
  • Resistance test (if you have a multimeter): With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across the NTC leads. At around 20°C, most Pevino NTCs read roughly 5–10 kΩ (check service documentation if available). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
  • Replace the sensor: If faulty, remove the old NTC probe and install a new Pevino-compatible upper compartment NTC sensor, routing the wire along the original path and securing it with clips or tape to avoid contact with moving parts or sharp edges.
