Possible Causes
Open or shorted lower compartment NTC sensor, Connector not seated on main PCB, Sensor wire damaged by shelf or bottle, Condensation damage at sensor tip
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the wine cooler before removing interior panels.
- Access the lower sensor: Remove lower zone shelves and any decorative back or side panel. The NTC is typically clipped near the evaporator or air outlet grille.
- Inspect wiring: Look for crushed or cut insulation where the wire passes behind liners or through grommets. Repair minor insulation damage with high‑quality electrical tape; replace the sensor if conductors are damaged.
- Check board connection: At the main control board, unplug and replug the lower NTC connector several times to wipe oxidation from the pins.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to the upper sensor if both are the same type. A large discrepancy usually indicates a failing sensor.
- Replace NTC: Install a new lower compartment NTC sensor matched to your Pevino model. Ensure the probe is positioned in free airflow, not touching the evaporator directly, to avoid false readings.
