Ignition Failure / Flame Not Detected
A02
Boiler locks out with A02, burner shuts down shortly after ignition, repeated failed starts.
Flame Loss During Operation
A03
Boiler shows A03 and shuts down, flow temperature rises rapidly, radiators very hot near boiler, pump noise may be absent.
Overheat Thermostat Tripped / Safety Thermostat Intervention
A04
Boiler displays A04, no heating or hot water, pressure gauge near zero or flashing low-pressure symbol.
Low Water Pressure / Insufficient System Charge
A05
Boiler shows A05, burner stops, flow temperature very high, radiators may be extremely hot, fan and pump may continue running.
Primary Circuit Overtemperature / Flow NTC Overheat
A06
Boiler intermittently locks out with A06, especially during hot water demand, water temperature fluctuates.
Domestic Hot Water NTC Sensor Fault / DHW Temperature Control Error
A07
Boiler displays A07, no heating or hot water, fan may not start.
Flue Gas Overtemperature / Flue Thermostat Intervention
A08
Boiler shows A08, fan runs but ignition does not start, or boiler stops shortly after starting.
Air Pressure Switch Fault / Combustion Air Proving Failure
A09
Boiler intermittently locks out with A09, especially in windy conditions, ignition attempts may be noisy.
Flame Detection Instability / Combustion Disturbance
A10
Boiler shows A10, no heating or hot water, fan may run briefly then stop.
Flue Gas Sensor Fault / Flue NTC Error
A11
Boiler displays A11, burner stops, fan may continue to run, possible smell of overheating from flue area.
Flue Overheat Lockout
A12
Boiler shows A12, no ignition, fan may not start, display may show symbol for air/flue fault.
Air/Flue System Fault (General)
A13
Boiler intermittently locks out with A13, especially at high heating demand, radiators may be only lukewarm.
Return Temperature Sensor Fault / Delta-T Protection
A14
Boiler shows A14, no heating or hot water, may occur after power surge or lightning.
Main PCB Fault / Internal Control Error
A15
Boiler displays A15, burner stops, may be associated with very high system temperature readings.
Safety Overheat Lockout (High Limit)
A16
Boiler shows A16, no heating, hot water may still function depending on model.
Heating Flow Sensor / Circuit Fault
A17
Boiler displays A17, heating stops, pump may continue to run for a while.
Return Sensor / Circuit Fault
A18
Boiler shows A18, no hot water, heating may still operate normally.
DHW Flow Sensor / Turbine Fault
A19
Boiler intermittently shows A19, hot water temperature unstable, sometimes too hot.
DHW Temperature Regulation Fault
A20
Boiler shows A20, no heating, pump may run briefly then stop.
Circulation Pump Fault / Pump Feedback Error
A21
Boiler displays A21, heating demand not recognised, room thermostat appears to call for heat.
External Control / Thermostat Input Fault
A22
Boiler shows A22, display may indicate sensor discrepancy, heating performance poor.
Flow/Return Sensor Mismatch
A23
Boiler intermittently locks out with A23, especially when switching between heating and hot water.
Diverter Valve Positioning Fault
A24
Boiler shows A24, no operation, may follow other sensor-related errors.
General Sensor Circuit Fault
A25
Boiler displays A25, pump runs but burner does not fire, may indicate anti-freeze or anti-block cycle.
Anti-Freeze / Anti-Block Protection Mode Indication
Symptom
Boiler display is blank or unreadable, but the boiler still appears to operate.
Display / User Interface Failure
Symptom
Boiler emits a burning smell or plastic smell during operation.
Overheating Component / Electrical Overload
Symptom
Boiler fan runs continuously even when there is no demand for heating or hot water.
Fan Overrun / Stuck Relay
Symptom
Boiler frequently locks out and requires manual reset, with varying or no error codes shown.
Intermittent Lockout / Unstable Operation
Symptom
Boiler frequently loses pressure and needs topping up every few days or less.
Chronic Pressure Loss
Symptom
Boiler ignites with a loud bang or pop (hard ignition).
Delayed Ignition / Hard Light-Off
Symptom
Boiler leaking water from underneath the casing or from internal components.
Internal Water Leak
Symptom
Boiler makes loud banging or knocking noises (kettling) during operation, especially on heating.
Kettling / Localised Boiling in Heat Exchanger
Symptom
Boiler repeatedly starts and stops (short cycling) with only brief burner operation.
Short Cycling / Oversized Output or Control Issue
Symptom
Boiler runs but produces no domestic hot water, while heating works normally.
No Domestic Hot Water Production
Symptom
Boiler runs but radiators do not get hot or only partially warm.
Poor Heating Circulation / No Central Heating
Symptom
Boiler vibrates excessively or resonates through the flue or pipework during operation.
Mechanical Vibration / Resonance
Symptom
Boiler will not start at all, no lights or display, appears completely dead.
No Power / Dead Boiler
Symptom
Hot water temperature fluctuates between hot and cold when using taps or shower.
Unstable Domestic Hot Water Temperature
Symptom
Radiators get hot when only hot water is being used, even with heating turned off.
