Gas Valve or Gas Supply Fault
E05
Furnace shuts down during operation, control shows E05, blower may continue to run.
High Limit Switch Open / Overheat Condition
E06
Furnace stops and displays E06, often after several failed ignition attempts or erratic operation.
Control Board Communication / Internal Fault
E07
Furnace locks out with E07, often accompanied by a strong draft or wind noise in the vent system.
Flue Gas / Draft Fault
E08
Furnace displays E08 and will not respond to thermostat commands.
Thermostat / Low-Voltage Control Fault
E09
Furnace shows E09 and shuts down, often after running for a short period.
Rollout Switch Tripped
E10
Furnace displays E10, blower may run continuously, no heat output.
Supply Air Temperature Sensor Fault
E11
Furnace shows E11 and will not start, often after a power outage or wiring work.
Polarity / Grounding Error
E12
Furnace displays E12, runs briefly, then shuts down with no heat reaching the home.
Return Air Temperature Sensor Fault
E13
Furnace shows E13 and will not ignite, often in very cold conditions.
Low Gas Pressure / Gas Supply Fault
E14
Furnace displays E14, blower may run but burners do not light.
Ignition Lockout Due to Repeated Failures
E15
Furnace shows E15 and stops, often during blower operation changes.
Blower Motor Fault / Speed Feedback Error
E16
Furnace displays E16, sometimes accompanied by water around the base of the unit.
Condensate Drain Fault
E17
Furnace shows E17 and shuts down, often during very cold or very hot ambient conditions.
Ambient Temperature Sensor Fault
E18
Furnace displays E18, no response to thermostat, sometimes after lightning or power surge.
Control Transformer / Low-Voltage Power Fault
E19
Furnace shows E19, intermittent operation, random resets.
Power Supply / Brownout Detection
E20
Furnace displays E20, often associated with integrated domestic hot water (DHW) function on combi models.
DHW Priority / Flow Sensor Fault (Combi Furnace)
Symptom
Blower runs continuously even when the thermostat is not calling for heat.
Stuck Fan Operation
Symptom
Furnace emits a burning smell when running, especially at the beginning of the season.
Dust Burn-Off / Overheating Components
Symptom
Furnace emits a chemical or plastic smell during operation.
Contaminant Combustion / Component Overheating
Symptom
Furnace frequently trips the high limit but no error code is displayed; unit is very hot to the touch.
Chronic Overheating
Symptom
Furnace inducer motor runs continuously but burners do not light and no code is shown.
Stuck Call for Heat / Pressure Switch Issue
Symptom
Furnace is very noisy during operation, with loud rumbling, whistling, or roaring sounds.
Combustion or Airflow Noise
Symptom
Furnace leaks water around the base or inside the cabinet.
Condensate Leakage
Symptom
Furnace makes a loud banging or booming noise at startup.
Delayed Ignition
Symptom
Furnace occasionally smells of exhaust or flue gases inside the home.
Flue Gas Spillage / Venting Problem
Symptom
Furnace runs but energy bills are unusually high and the unit cycles more often than expected.
Reduced Efficiency / Poor Combustion
Symptom
Furnace runs but produces no heat; blower operates, but supply air is cool or only slightly warm.
Burners Not Firing / No Flame with Blower Operation
Symptom
Furnace runs but some rooms are too cold while others are too warm.
Air Distribution / Balancing Problem
Symptom
Furnace short cycles: starts, runs for a few minutes, then shuts off and restarts frequently.
Short Cycling Due to Overheat or Sizing Issues
Symptom
Furnace starts and stops repeatedly without reaching the set temperature; thermostat clicks frequently.
Thermostat or Control Cycling Issue
Symptom
Furnace starts but shuts down after a few seconds, blower does not come on.
Ignition or Flame Proving Failure Without Displayed Code
Symptom
Furnace vibrates excessively, causing rattling in the cabinet and ductwork.
Mechanical Vibration / Imbalance
Symptom
Furnace will not start at all; no lights, no display, no fan operation.
