Furnace will not start; LED shows 6 flashes; inducer may run briefly then stop.
Pressure Switch Cycle Lockout or Venting Problem
7 FLASHES
Furnace shuts down; LED shows 7 flashes; blower may continue to run.
Flame Loss During Run
8 FLASHES
Furnace will not start; LED shows 8 flashes; thermostat appears to call for heat but nothing happens.
Low or No 115 VAC Power to Furnace / Polarity or Ground Fault
9 FLASHES
Furnace will not run; LED shows 9 flashes; blower may run at low speed.
Reversed Line Polarity or Ground Fault
BLOWER ONLY / NO LED
Blower runs continuously, but LED is off or very dim; no heat.
Control Board Power Loss or Internal Failure
CONTINUOUS SLOW FLASH
Furnace does not respond to thermostat; LED shows a slow continuous flash with no distinct count.
No Call for Heat / Normal Standby
LOCKOUT – 3 FAILED IGNITIONS
Furnace attempts to light three times then stops; LED indicates ignition lockout; blower may run for a purge cycle.
Ignition Retry Lockout
LOCKOUT – FLAME SENSE FAILURE
Burners light briefly then shut off; furnace retries several times then locks out; LED indicates flame sense error.
Flame Rectification Failure
OPEN AUX LIMIT
Furnace starts but shuts down before reaching temperature; LED indicates auxiliary limit open; blower may continue to run.
Auxiliary Limit Switch Open (Typically in Blower or Vestibule Area)
OPEN ROLLOUT SWITCH
Furnace shuts down quickly after ignition attempt; LED may show rollout-related code; manual reset rollout switch is tripped.
Flame Rollout / Rollout Switch Open
STEADY ON
LED is on solid with no flashing; furnace may or may not be operating.
Normal Operation or Board Powered with No Fault
Symptom
Blower runs continuously even when thermostat is not calling for heat or fan.
Blower Stuck in Fan-On Mode
Symptom
Furnace blower is very loud or rattling; vibration felt in ducts and floor.
Blower Wheel Imbalance or Loose Mounting
Symptom
Furnace cycles on and off frequently (every few minutes) without reaching set temperature.
Short Cycling
Symptom
Furnace ignites but produces yellow, lazy flames or soot around the burner area.
Improper Combustion / Incomplete Burning
Symptom
Furnace is very noisy in the ductwork with whistling or rumbling sounds when running.
Duct Resonance or High Static Pressure
Symptom
Furnace makes loud banging or booming noise at startup when burners ignite.
Delayed Ignition
Symptom
Furnace occasionally shuts off and then restarts on its own; lights flicker when it happens.
Intermittent Power Interruption
Symptom
Furnace occasionally trips the household circuit breaker.
Overcurrent or Short Circuit in Furnace
Symptom
Furnace produces a high-pitched whine or loud humming from the inducer area.
Inducer Motor Bearing Wear or Obstruction
Symptom
Furnace runs but does not keep the house warm; supply air is only slightly warm and burners cycle frequently.
Underfiring or Short Cycling
Symptom
Furnace runs but some rooms are cold while others are warm.
Uneven Heating / Duct Imbalance
Symptom
Furnace runs but there is a burning dust or metallic smell when heat first comes on.
Dust Burn-Off or Overheating Components
Symptom
Furnace starts and runs but shuts off on high limit; you hear the blower running hard and ducts may be noisy.
Overheating / High Static Pressure
Symptom
Furnace starts but shuts off after a few seconds; inducer and blower may continue to run.
Flame Proving Failure or Rollout/Limit Trip
Symptom
Furnace will not start at all; no blower, no inducer, no LED lights.
No Power to Furnace
Symptom
Inducer motor runs but burners never light; you do not see the hot surface ignitor glowing.
Ignitor Not Energizing
Symptom
Thermostat calls for heat but outdoor AC condensing unit also runs when furnace is on (in heating mode).
