E01
Furnace fails to ignite, display shows E01 shortly after a call for heat.
Ignition Failure / No Flame Detected
E02
Furnace locks out with E02 during ignition sequence, fan runs but no flame established.
Gas Valve / Gas Supply Fault
E03
Furnace attempts to start but shuts down with E03, fan may run briefly then stop.
Flue / Air Pressure Switch Fault
E04
Furnace locks out with E04, often after running for a short period, casing may feel very hot.
Overheat Thermostat Trip / High Limit Fault
E05
Display shows E05 and furnace will not fire, often associated with low system pressure or air in system.
Low Water Pressure / Flow Fault (for hydronic Ravenheat furnace/boiler units)
E06
Furnace shows E06 and shuts down, often related to temperature sensor readings.
Flow Temperature Sensor Fault (NTC Sensor Error)
E07
Furnace displays E07, may start then quickly shut down, sometimes with noisy operation.
Return Temperature Sensor Fault (NTC Sensor Error)
E08
Furnace shows E08 and will not operate, often after a power surge or wiring disturbance.
Mains Supply / Polarity / Earth Fault
E09
Furnace locks out with E09, often associated with condensate issues or flue problems.
Condensate / Flue Drainage Fault
E10
Furnace shows E10 and stops, often when demand is high or multiple zones call for heat.
Circulation Pump Fault / No Flow
E11
Furnace displays E11, may relate to domestic hot water (if combi-style furnace/boiler) or sensor issues.
DHW Temperature Sensor / Flow Sensor Fault
E12
Furnace shows E12 and will not start, often after a failed ignition or irregular flame.
Flame Detection / Ionisation Fault
E13
Furnace intermittently shuts down with E13, often during windy conditions.
Flue Gas / Combustion Instability Fault
E14
Furnace shows E14, often associated with sensor or PCB communication issues.
Internal Communication / Sensor Bus Fault
E15
Furnace displays E15 and will not respond to thermostat calls.
Room Thermostat / External Control Fault
E16
Furnace shows E16, sometimes after long periods of inactivity.
Fan Speed / Fan Feedback Fault
E17
Furnace intermittently locks out with E17, often during high demand or hot weather.
Flue Gas Overtemperature / Sensor Fault
E18
Furnace shows E18, often associated with condensate pump (if fitted) or external safety devices.
External Safety Interlock / Condensate Pump Fault
E19
Furnace displays E19 and becomes unresponsive to user inputs.
Control Panel / User Interface Fault
E20
Furnace shows E20, often after a brownout or power surge.
Internal PCB Fault / EEPROM Error
Symptom
A strong metallic or burning smell is noticeable around the furnace during operation.
Overheating Components / Electrical Overheat
Symptom
Condensate water is dripping from joints in the flue or from the furnace casing near the flue connection.
Condensate / Flue Leak
Symptom
Furnace causes noticeable vibration and rattling through the ductwork or pipework.
Excessive Vibration / Mounting Fault
Symptom
Furnace emits a high-pitched whine or screeching noise while running.
Fan or Pump Bearing Wear
Symptom
Furnace fails to respond to hot water demand (for Ravenheat combi-style furnace/boiler), but heating works.
DHW Priority / Flow Detection Fault
Symptom
Furnace frequently loses system pressure, requiring regular topping up.
Chronic Pressure Loss / Leak
Symptom
Furnace frequently needs manual resetting without showing a specific error code.
Intermittent Lockout / Nuisance Tripping
Symptom
Furnace is very noisy during operation, with banging, booming, or rumbling sounds.
Combustion Noise / Delayed Ignition
Symptom
Furnace runs but produces no heat or insufficient heat to the property.
Underheating / Poor Heat Output
Symptom
Furnace runs continuously and overheats the property, even when thermostat is turned down.
Runaway Heating / Control Fault
Symptom
Furnace starts and stops repeatedly when hot water tap is partially open, causing temperature fluctuations.
DHW Modulation / Flow Instability
Symptom
Furnace starts then shuts down after a few seconds without showing an error code.
Short Cycling / Premature Shutdown
Symptom
Furnace will not start at all, no display or lights on the control panel.
No Power / Dead Appliance
Symptom
Occupants experience headaches or nausea when the furnace is running; possible flue gas smell.
Potential Carbon Monoxide / Flue Gas Spillage
Symptom
Radiators or warm air outlets heat unevenly; some are hot, others remain cold.
System Balancing / Flow Distribution Fault
Symptom
Water is leaking from the bottom of the Ravenheat furnace/boiler casing.
