Indoor Unit EEPROM / Main PCB Communication Error
E1
Indoor unit stops shortly after starting, display shows E1 and outdoor unit does not run.
Indoor–Outdoor Communication Failure
E2
Indoor unit stops cooling, indoor fan may run but compressor stops; display shows E2.
Indoor Evaporator Coil Temperature Sensor (T1) Fault
E3
Outdoor unit stops, indoor unit may show E3 and system shuts down after running briefly.
Outdoor Condenser Coil Temperature Sensor (T2) Fault
E4
Unit stops and displays E4; may occur during heating or cooling, often after running for some time.
Discharge Pipe Temperature Sensor (T3) Fault / Overheat Protection
E5
Unit attempts to start, then stops with E5; compressor may not run or runs briefly then shuts down.
Overcurrent Protection / Compressor Overload
E6
Indoor unit shows E6, compressor does not start or stops quickly; may be accompanied by humming or clicking from outdoor unit.
Compressor Start Failure / Phase Error (Inverter Models)
E7
Indoor unit shows E7 and stops; often related to indoor fan not running or running erratically.
Indoor Fan Motor Fault / Feedback Error
E8
Unit stops with E8; may occur during heavy load or high ambient temperature.
High Pressure Protection / Overload
E9
Indoor unit shows E9 and may stop; often associated with water leakage or abnormal defrost behavior.
Indoor Unit Full Water / Drainage Protection (for some Blaupunkt portable or cassette models)
F0
Unit displays F0 and does not cool effectively; may stop after short operation.
Refrigerant Leakage / Low Refrigerant Protection
F1
Indoor unit shows F1 and stops cooling; fan may still run.
Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor (Room Sensor) Fault
F2
Unit displays F2 and may stop heating or cooling; defrost cycles may be abnormal.
Outdoor Ambient Temperature Sensor Fault
F3
Unit shows F3; may run but with poor performance or incorrect defrosting.
Evaporator Low Temperature Protection / Sensor Abnormality
F4
Unit displays F4 and stops; often associated with compressor discharge temperature issues.
Discharge Temperature High / Sensor Error
F5
Unit shows F5; may relate to outdoor fan speed or low pressure protection depending on model.
Outdoor Fan Speed Error / Low Pressure Protection
F6
Unit displays F6 and may limit compressor operation or shut down.
Current Sensing / IPM Overload Protection
H1
Display shows H1 during heating mode; outdoor unit may frost heavily and indoor airflow may stop.
Defrost Mode Indication / Defrost Protection
H3
Unit stops with H3; compressor may be very hot to touch.
Compressor Overheat Protection
H4
Unit shows H4 and stops; may be related to indoor fan or EEPROM issues depending on model.
Indoor Fan Protection / EEPROM Fault
H5
Unit displays H5 and does not start compressor.
IPM Protection / Inverter Module Fault
H6
Unit shows H6; indoor fan may not run or runs intermittently.
Indoor Fan Motor Lock / Feedback Error
P0
Unit displays P0 and may limit compressor speed or shut down.
DC Bus Voltage Protection
P1
Unit shows P1; may relate to low indoor coil temperature or anti-freeze protection.
Evaporator Anti-freeze Protection
P2
Portable Blaupunkt AC shows P2 and stops cooling; water tank icon may flash.
Full Condensate Tank / High Water Level Protection
P4
Unit shows P4 and may stop; often related to inverter module temperature.
Inverter Module Overheat Protection
Symptom
Air conditioner runs but does not cool the room effectively; supply air feels only slightly cooler than room air.
Insufficient Cooling Capacity / Performance Degradation
Symptom
Indoor unit blows warm air in cooling mode or cool air in heating mode (heat pump models).
Reversing Valve / Mode Control Failure
Symptom
Indoor unit display shows correct settings but no air comes out; fan does not run.
Indoor Fan Not Running
Symptom
Indoor unit emits a musty or moldy smell when starting up.
Biological Growth on Evaporator and Drain Pan
Symptom
Indoor unit leaks water from the front or bottom of the casing during cooling operation.
Condensate Drainage Failure
Symptom
Loud rattling or buzzing noise from indoor unit during operation.
Indoor Mechanical Vibration / Loose Components
Symptom
Outdoor unit makes loud grinding or squealing noise when running.
Outdoor Fan Motor Bearing Failure
Symptom
Outdoor unit runs but indoor unit fan stops intermittently, causing uneven cooling.
Indoor Fan Intermittent Operation
Symptom
Remote control does not operate the indoor unit, but unit can be controlled from the front panel (if available).
Remote Control / IR Receiver Failure
Symptom
Unit frequently turns on and off (short cycling) without reaching set temperature.
Short Cycling / Control Instability
Symptom
Unit operates but causes excessive vibration and noise transmitted through the wall or floor.
Installation Vibration / Mounting Issues
Symptom
Unit powers on but compressor and outdoor fan never start; only indoor fan runs.
Outdoor Unit Not Responding
Symptom
