General Alarm Condition (Temperature or Door)
E1
Digital Bush upright freezer beeps and shows E1; temperature display may flash and interior may not reach set temperature.
Cabinet Temperature Sensor (NTC) Fault
E2
Bush freezer displays E2 and may run continuously or not cool correctly; temperature reading may be inaccurate or fixed.
Evaporator Temperature Sensor (Defrost Sensor) Fault
E3
Bush freezer shows E3 and may not defrost properly, leading to ice build-up on the evaporator and poor cooling.
Defrost System Failure (Heater or Circuit Fault)
E4
Bush freezer displays E4 and may shut down the compressor or run erratically; sometimes accompanied by clicking from the compressor area.
Compressor or Start Circuit Fault
E5
Bush freezer shows E5 and may not maintain correct temperature; fan may run but compressor cycles abnormally.
Ambient Temperature Sensor Fault
E6
Bush freezer displays E6; control panel may be unresponsive or buttons do not change settings reliably.
Control Panel Communication or Keypad Fault
E7
Bush freezer shows E7 and may run the compressor continuously or not at all; temperature may drift significantly from the set point.
Main Control Board Temperature Regulation Fault
E8
Bush freezer displays E8; internal fan may not run, or there may be poor air circulation and uneven temperatures.
Evaporator Fan Motor Fault
E9
Bush freezer shows E9 and may beep continuously; temperature may be extremely high or low compared to the set point.
High/Low Temperature Protection or Sensor Calibration Error
H1
Bush freezer display shows H1 or HI and an audible alarm sounds; interior temperature is too high and food may be soft or thawing.
High Temperature Alarm Condition
L1
Bush freezer display shows L1 or a padlock icon; settings cannot be changed and buttons appear unresponsive.
Control Panel Child Lock Activated
Symptom
Buttons on the Bush freezer control panel do not respond or require very hard pressing.
Worn or Faulty Keypad / Touch Control
Symptom
Chest freezer lid will not stay open or slams shut unexpectedly.
Lid Hinge or Counterbalance Failure
Symptom
Digital display on Bush freezer is blank or very dim, but the unit still cools.
Display Power or Backlight Failure
Symptom
Excessive frost build-up on interior walls and food, especially near the top or around the door opening.
Warm Air Ingress Causing Excessive Frost
Symptom
Freezer constantly running and never seems to switch off, though temperature is acceptable.
Extended Run Time – Insulation or Seal Loss
Symptom
Freezer door difficult to open immediately after closing; feels like it is stuck.
Normal Vacuum Lock or Gasket Adhesion
Symptom
Freezer door not sealing properly; visible gap or condensation around the seal.
Door Gasket Failure or Door Misalignment
Symptom
Freezer emits a strong chemical or burning smell when running.
Overheating Electrical Component or Insulation Odour
Symptom
Freezer exterior sides feel very hot to the touch.
High Condenser Temperature
Symptom
Freezer interior fan noisy or not running, leading to uneven temperatures (upright frost-free models).
Evaporator Fan Obstruction or Failure
Symptom
Freezer interior has a persistent bad odour even after cleaning.
Odour Contamination of Interior Surfaces and Drain
Symptom
Freezer interior light not working but cooling is normal.
Interior Lamp or Door Switch Failure
Symptom
Freezer interior light stays on even when the door is closed, causing warming near the top.
Stuck or Faulty Door Switch
Symptom
Freezer interior surfaces sweating or showing droplets of water, especially near the door.
Condensation Due to Humidity or Seal Issues
Symptom
Freezer interior temperature fluctuates widely; sometimes too warm, sometimes too cold.
Unstable Temperature Control
Symptom
Freezer making loud buzzing or humming noise from the rear.
Noisy Compressor or Vibrating Condenser
Symptom
Freezer not cooling at all; interior remains at room temperature, compressor not running, lights may still work.
No Cooling – Compressor Not Starting
Symptom
Freezer over-freezing; temperature extremely low even on normal setting, some models show frost on interior walls.
Thermostat or Temperature Sensor Stuck in Cold Mode
Symptom
Freezer runs but does not get cold enough; temperature hovers just below 0°C and food softens over time.
Poor Cooling – Partial Refrigerant Loss or Restricted Airflow
Symptom
Freezer trips the household circuit breaker or RCD when it starts.
Electrical Short or Earth Leakage
Symptom
Rattling or clunking noise when the compressor starts or stops.
Refrigerant Tubing or Internal Components Hitting Cabinet
Symptom
Water pooling on the floor under or around the freezer.
