E01
Garbage disposal will not power on at all, no humming, no sound, internal status LED (on bottom or side of unit) flashes once repeatedly.
Line Power Supply or Internal Thermal Protector Open
E02
Garbage disposal does not start, but a soft humming sound is heard for a few seconds before it stops, internal LED flashes twice repeatedly.
Impeller Jam / Rotor Locked
E03
Garbage disposal stops suddenly during operation and will not restart until cooled, internal LED flashes three times when switch is turned on.
Motor Overload / Thermal Protector Trip
E04
Garbage disposal runs but water backs up into sink; grinding seems normal but sink drains very slowly or not at all, internal LED flashes four times when unit is running.
Discharge Blockage / Obstructed Outlet Port
E05
Garbage disposal runs but makes a loud metallic grinding or scraping noise, internal LED flashes five times continuously.
Foreign Object in Grinding Chamber
E06
Garbage disposal runs but trips the kitchen circuit breaker or GFCI outlet after a few seconds, internal LED flashes six times.
Overcurrent / Ground Fault in Motor Circuit
E07
Garbage disposal runs but water leaks from the very top where the unit meets the sink drain opening, internal LED flashes seven times when leak sensor (if equipped) detects moisture.
Sink Flange Seal Failure
E08
Garbage disposal leaks from the side where the dishwasher drain hose connects, internal LED flashes eight times when moisture is detected near the dishwasher inlet.
Dishwasher Inlet or Hose Connection Leak
E09
Garbage disposal leaks from the bottom of the motor housing, water dripping directly from the underside of the Reginox unit, internal LED flashes nine times.
Internal Seal or Grinding Chamber Leak
E10
Garbage disposal will not start from the wall switch, but starts and runs when the built-in manual test button (if equipped) is pressed, internal LED flashes ten times when switch is used.
Control Switch or Air Switch Input Failure
E11
Garbage disposal starts but immediately shuts off within 1–2 seconds, internal LED shows a single long flash followed by one short flash (11).
Rotor Position or Start Circuit Fault (Electronic Start Models)
E12
Garbage disposal runs but emits a strong burning smell and may produce light smoke from the bottom vents, internal LED flashes twelve times and then locks out.
Motor Overheating / Insulation Breakdown
E13
Garbage disposal runs intermittently; sometimes it starts, other times nothing happens when the switch is flipped, internal LED flashes thirteen times when a start attempt fails.
Intermittent Power or Internal Relay Fault
E14
Garbage disposal runs but is unusually loud and vibrates excessively, internal LED flashes fourteen times indicating imbalance.
Impeller Imbalance / Loose Impeller Lugs
E15
Garbage disposal runs but water and ground waste are forced up into the opposite sink bowl (for double sinks), internal LED flashes fifteen times.
Cross-Drain Blockage / Incorrect Trap Configuration
E16
Garbage disposal does not respond, but internal LED is solid red (no flashing pattern).
Lockout Condition / Safety Interlock Engaged
E17
Garbage disposal runs but water leaks from the side discharge connection where the drain pipe attaches, internal LED flashes seventeen times when moisture is detected at discharge.
Discharge Gasket or Coupling Leak
E18
Garbage disposal emits a high-pitched whine but does not grind effectively; food remains largely intact, internal LED flashes eighteen times.
Worn Grinding Components / Reduced Torque
E19
Garbage disposal runs but causes lights to flicker or dim significantly when starting, internal LED flashes nineteen times indicating high inrush current.
Excessive Start Current / Electrical Supply Issue
Symptom
Garbage disposal causes the sink to shake or vibrate heavily when running.
Excessive Vibration / Imbalance
Symptom
Garbage disposal emits a foul odor even after running with water.
Organic Buildup / Biofilm in Grinding Chamber and Drain
Symptom
Garbage disposal hums loudly but does not spin; after a few seconds it may shut off.
Impeller Jam / Locked Rotor (No Code Display)
Symptom
Garbage disposal is extremely noisy, with rattling or clanking sounds during operation.
Foreign Object or Loose Component Noise
Symptom
Garbage disposal is unusually hot to the touch after short periods of use.
Overheating Motor
Symptom
Garbage disposal leaks only when the dishwasher is draining.
Dishwasher Drain Backflow or Inlet Leak
Symptom
Garbage disposal makes a grinding noise even when empty and with no food present.
Internal Component Contact / Misalignment
Symptom
Garbage disposal motor runs, but the grinding plate does not move; no grinding occurs.
Sheared Coupling / Disconnected Rotor
Symptom
Garbage disposal runs but does not grind food effectively; food particles remain large and are not flushed away.
Reduced Grinding Performance
Symptom
Garbage disposal runs but water leaks from where the power cord enters the bottom of the unit.
Cord Entry Grommet Leak / Internal Water Intrusion
Symptom
Garbage disposal runs but water slowly seeps from the seam between the upper and lower housing sections.
Housing Gasket Failure
Symptom
Garbage disposal splashes water and food particles back out of the sink opening during use.
Ineffective Splash Guard / High Back-Splash
Symptom
Garbage disposal switch is on, but the unit only buzzes briefly and then stops; reset button does not appear tripped.
Weak Start Circuit / Failing Capacitor
Symptom
Garbage disposal switch produces a loud pop or spark when turned on or off.
Arcing Wall Switch Contacts
Symptom
Garbage disposal trips the GFCI outlet but not the main breaker.
Ground Fault / Leakage Current
Symptom
Garbage disposal turns on by itself or runs unexpectedly without the switch being operated.
Control Switch or Wiring Short
Symptom
Garbage disposal will not turn on, but the reset button on the bottom has tripped outward.
Manual Reset Overload Trip
Symptom
Garbage disposal works, but there is a constant low-level water drip from the discharge pipe joints.
Loose or Worn Drain Pipe Connections
Symptom
