Water temperature sensor fault
E17
Display shows E17 and unit indicates communication error between display and main valve (on split systems).
Communication bus fault
E18
Display shows E18 and unit logs frequent power errors or brownout conditions.
Power supply / low voltage fault
Symptom
Brine tank does not refill with water after regeneration; salt remains dry at the bottom.
No brine refill
Symptom
Brine tank fills with water and overflows or stands nearly full of water after regeneration.
Brine tank overfill / brine refill fault
Symptom
Brine tank water level does not drop during brine draw; salt usage is minimal and water remains hard.
No brine draw
Symptom
Softener brine tank develops thick sludge and mushy salt; regeneration performance declines.
Salt mushing / brine tank fouling
Symptom
Softener causes noticeable drop in household water pressure or flow when in service.
Flow restriction through softener
Symptom
Softener continuously runs water to drain even when not regenerating; constant flow heard at drain line.
Continuous drain flow / valve not sealing
Symptom
Softener discharges resin beads into household plumbing; small beads appear in faucet aerators and fixtures.
Resin loss into plumbing
Symptom
Softener display works but shows incorrect time or settings after every power outage.
Loss of non-volatile settings
Symptom
Softener does not regenerate automatically; only regenerates when manually started.
No automatic regeneration
Symptom
Softener emits a rotten egg (sulfur) odor in softened water.
Hydrogen sulfide odor / bacterial contamination
Symptom
Softener emits grinding or clicking noises from the control head during regeneration.
Drive motor or gear train wear
Symptom
Softener installed but water bypasses the unit; no change in hardness whether in service or bypass.
Incorrect plumbing / cross-connection
Symptom
Softener leaks water from around the control valve head or between valve and tank.
Control valve or tank neck leak
Symptom
Softener makes loud banging or hammering noises in pipes during regeneration or when water stops.
Water hammer / hydraulic shock
Symptom
Softener produces salty-tasting water immediately after regeneration.
Excessive brine carryover
Symptom
Softener regenerates too frequently, wasting salt and water.
Over-regeneration / incorrect metering
Symptom
Softener stuck in regeneration; cycle does not complete and water may be unavailable or hard.
Regeneration stall / incomplete cycle
Symptom
Softener will not start at all; display is blank and unit appears dead.
No power to control valve
Symptom
Water leaks from fittings on inlet, outlet, or drain connections of the softener.
External plumbing connection leak
Symptom
Water remains hard even after recent regeneration; soap does not lather and scale forms on fixtures.
Loss of softening capacity / exhausted resin
