E01
Machine will not power on, display is blank, no indicator lights, no pump or boiler activity.
Main Power Supply / Control Board Fault
E02
Machine powers on but does not heat, temperature display (if equipped) shows error or remains at room temperature, no boiler warm-up.
Heating Circuit / Element Failure
E03
PID or digital display shows an over-temperature or over-pressure error, boiler pressure climbs rapidly, safety valve may vent steam.
Boiler Overheat / Pressure Control Failure
E04
PID or digital display shows a sensor error, temperature reading is erratic, stuck at one value, or shows dashes instead of a number.
Boiler Temperature Sensor / Probe Fault
E05
Digital display shows a water level or fill error; machine will not heat and may attempt repeated fills without success.
Boiler Fill / Level Control Fault
E06
Machine displays a pump or fill timeout error; pump runs for an extended period but boiler level does not rise.
Water Inlet / Pump Fill Timeout
E07
Display indicates a brew circuit error; pump activates but no water flows through the group head during extraction.
Brew Circuit Flow Fault
E08
Display shows a steam boiler error; steam boiler does not fill or heat correctly on dual-boiler Rocket models.
Steam Boiler Fill / Control Fault
E09
Display shows a low water or tank empty error even when the reservoir is full and correctly seated.
Water Tank Level Detection Fault
E10
Display shows a generic system error; machine locks out most functions and may beep or flash.
Control Firmware / Internal Fault
Symptom
Boiler pressure climbs too high, safety valve hisses or vents steam frequently.
Overpressure / Failed Pressure Control
Symptom
Brew lever on E61 group is stiff, squeaks, or does not move smoothly.
E61 Cam and Valve Wear / Lack of Lubrication
Symptom
Brew pressure gauge reads abnormally high or low during extraction, not matching actual shot behavior.
Brew Pressure Measurement Fault
Symptom
Brew temperature seems inconsistent; shots vary from sour to bitter without grind or dose changes.
Brew Temperature Instability
Symptom
Brew water has a metallic or off taste, even with fresh beans and clean grinder.
Taste Contamination / Residue
Symptom
Hot water tap drips or will not fully shut off.
Hot Water Valve Seal Wear
Symptom
Hot water tap sputters with steam and water, or delivers mostly steam instead of hot water.
Air / Steam Entrained in Hot Water Circuit
Symptom
Machine does not automatically refill the boiler; pump does not activate when water is drawn from boiler.
Boiler Auto-Fill Failure
Symptom
Machine does not respond to front panel switches or buttons, but power light is on.
User Interface / Switch Failure
Symptom
Machine does not switch from reservoir mode to plumbed-in mode (or vice versa) correctly.
Water Source Selection Fault
Symptom
Machine heats but never reaches proper pressure; boiler pressure gauge stays low and steam is weak.
Underheating / Misadjusted Pressurestat
Symptom
Machine makes loud knocking or rattling noises when the pump runs.
Pump Vibration / Mounting Issue
Symptom
Machine trips the household circuit breaker or RCD when turned on or when heating.
Electrical Short / Ground Fault
Symptom
Machine vibrates excessively on the counter during operation.
Chassis Vibration / Footing Issue
Symptom
No water from group head during brewing, but pump can be heard running.
Brew Path Blockage
Symptom
PID display is blank or flickering, but the machine still heats and operates.
PID Display / Control Module Issue
Symptom
Portafilter drips or sprays around the edges during extraction.
Brew Group Seal / Gasket Failure
Symptom
Pump runs loudly but no water is drawn from the reservoir; machine cannot prime.
Pump Cavitation / Loss of Prime
Symptom
Steam pressure gauge does not move or shows incorrect readings, even though steam output seems normal.
Steam Pressure Gauge / Sensing Line Fault
Symptom
Steam pressure is low and milk steaming is slow; steam wand output is weak.
Low Steam Performance
Symptom
Steam wand drips water or steam continuously even when the steam knob is fully closed.
Steam Valve Not Sealing
Symptom
Water backs up into the drip tray from the three-way valve after brewing, or does not release pressure from the group.
Three-Way Solenoid Valve Malfunction
Symptom
Water continuously flows into the boiler and out of the safety valve or expansion valve.
Overfill / Fill Valve Stuck Open
Symptom
Water drips from the vacuum breaker valve on top of the boiler during warm-up or even after reaching temperature.
Vacuum Breaker Valve Leak
Symptom
Water leaking from the E61 group head even when not brewing; slow drip into the drip tray.
Group Valve Seal Wear
Symptom
Water leaking from underneath the machine during or after use.
Internal Leak / Hose or Fitting Failure
Symptom
Water leaks from the portafilter spouts before the pump is activated, or during pre-infusion only.
Pre-Infusion Valve / Group Valve Leak
Symptom
Water or steam leaks from around the boiler flange or element mounting point.
Boiler Gasket / Element Seal Failure
Symptom
Weak water flow from group head, shots run very slowly even with coarse grind and no puck channeling.
Restricted Brew Flow / Scale Buildup
